Matt Farah Test Drives Some Alfa Romeo Classics

There’s plenty to see while we wait for more news about the upcoming Alfa Romeo Alfetta, including Matt Farah’s trio of test drive videos. Episodes one and two of the trilogy is already on YouTube and the third episode should follow shortly.

The lucky man had a chance to test drive three Alfas from Afshin Behnia’s own collection; an original 1967 Duetto, a 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 and the last one seems to be a classic coupe though we can’t be certain of the year and model.

In the first of three "One Takes", Matt takes the Duetto for a spin on Southern California's Pacific Coast Highway and the little roadster managed to convert him, someone who’s not a fan of old cars, into a fan. Sporting a 1.6-liter engine and cranking out 120 horsepower, the Duetto was not designed to be a performance car, but a fun top-down cruiser that’s eager to get going.

With a smile on his face Matt was eager to drive the GTV, which they had to point out is different from the GTA. With a bit more power at around 150 horsepower, the 2.0-liter engine does have a few modifications along with grippy tires and a roll cage. It’s ready for a nice cruise along the coast or even the track if that sporty exhaust sound is any indication. Compared to the Duetto, the GTV feels more like a sports car with direct steering and easy to find gears.

While we wait for more Alfetta news, we’ll have the third episode to look forward to.
